Chan Yun Kim is a Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology at Yonsei University, College of Medicine in Seoul, Korea. Concurrently, he serves as the Editor-in-chief of the Korean Journal of Ophthalmology and Administrative Director at Yonsei University Health System.
He graduated from Yonsei University, College of Medicine in 1990. His first training as an ophthalmologist was at Yonsei University Severance Hospital between 1991 and 1995, after which he became a clinical fellow at the same hospital in 1998. He became an assistant professor of Ophthalmology at Yonsei University in 2001. From 2004 to 2006, he spent 2 years at the University of Iowa as a research fellow. Since returning to Korea, he has been Professor at the same university since 2012.
His main scientific interest has been the pathophysiology of NTG. He also focused his research on the diagnosis of glaucoma using OCT and the improvement of surgical techniques for glaucoma operation.
