Background Statement: Angle-closure glaucoma remains a major cause of irreversible blindness. Ophthalmologists must have an up-to-date understanding of all the latest laser and surgical options to tackle angle closure and angle-closure glaucoma effectively and safely.
Abstract
SYNOPSIS
A distinguished international faculty from the APGS will present the indications, techniques, outcomes, and how to avoid and manage complications, for the whole line-up of the latest laser and surgical options for angle closure and angle-closure glaucoma, including laser peripheral iridotomy, laser peripheral iridoplasty, cyclophotocoagulation, laser trabeculoplasty, lens extraction, external drainage surgery, internal drainage surgery (including goniosynechialysis, MIGS, and newer options), and management of complications.
OBJECTIVE
At the conclusion of this course, the attendee will have a better understanding of all the latest laser and surgical options available for angle closure and angle-closure glaucoma. The attendee will be able to make an evidence-based selection, and to perform the laser or surgery effectively and safely, and to offer his / her patients the best possible clinical outcomes.
